BMA Atlanta Taps Martine Hunter to Lead 2011-12 Board of Directors

PRESS RELEASE

ATLANTA - Aug. 25, 2011 – The Atlanta chapter of the Business MarketingMartine Hunter Association (BMA) today announced the appointment of Martine Hunter as president of the 2011-12 board of directors. Hunter will be responsible for leading the board, as well as spearheading programs for the association’s 2012 season. Hunter has been a BMA board member for two years and replaces former president John Wiley.

“One of the board’s goals for the remainder of 2011 and 2012 is to offer BMA members and guests some extraordinary events at which they can mingle and learn from like-minded peers,” said Hunter, who has already implemented changes to the organization’s monthly meeting times and venue.

“For years, the BMA met for pasta luncheons in the heart of Buckhead,” Hunter said. “Our new location will be at the Ravinia Club in the Perimeter area from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with a lighter fare, adult beverages and more space for relaxed networking.”

According to Hunter, trying to attend meetings in the middle of the day posed an ongoing challenge to many BMA members. She said she believes more people will appreciate the chance to attend meetings toward the end of the day, when they’re free to socialize, gain knowledge from a high-value keynote, and then head home.

Hunter brings with her real-world B2B experience; she currently works as the creative director of inbound marketing at MLT Creative, an east Atlanta B2B marketing agency. There, she leads the agency’s inbound marketing, website, social media and public relations programs, providing clients with inbound marketing solutions built around strategy, analytics and ROI. Hunter’s marketing career began in Los Angeles with Chiat/Day Advertising, and has also held creative and marketing leadership positions with the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and Harland.

In addition to a change of venue and meeting time, Hunter and the board have worked diligently to secure BMA monthly programming from September 2011 through May 2012, which will feature senior-level B2B marketers from across the nation and local social events. The BMA also plans to offer a new “Members Only Reflection Dinner,” at which, for an additional fee, a small group of 12 or fewer members will have the opportunity to dine with featured BMA speakers following the keynote event.

“This season, the BMA’s goal is really about offering one-of-a-kind opportunities for our members and guests,” Hunter said. “We hope that the superior program content, coupled with the new environment, will enhance our reputation, differentiate our group from the other Atlanta business associations and ultimately help us meet our goal of reaching Atlanta’s top-tier senior business-to-business marketing professionals.”

The BMA Atlanta board of directors is currently comprised of B2B marketers from local companies, including  Rory Carlton, Arketi Group; Lauren Krupp, ASD Inc., Erick Pennington, The Jones Group; Steve Chalk, IBM; Eduardo Esparza, market8; Nancy Bistritz, Nurun; and Mark Potter, Conduit, Inc.
